Origin-Direct Trading in African Agricultural Commodities

Built for the industrial buyer

Mission

To make origin-direct supply of African agricultural commodities accessible, documented and reliable for industrial buyers worldwide — closing the gap between the co-operative and the factory.

CarverAgri was founded to address a persistent gap in the supply of West and North African agricultural commodities: too many hands between the harvest and the factory gate, too little documentation, and too much price opacity. Industrial buyers — food manufacturers, ingredient processors, confectionery groups — needed a counterpart they could treat like a supplier, not a broker.

We operate as a principal. When you buy from CarverAgri, we own the goods. We have already assessed the origin, tested the grade, managed the export and taken the quality risk. That means you get a clean sales contract, a full document set and a single point of accountability from order through to delivery.

Our team combines commodity trading experience from West African origins with European buyer expectations around compliance, documentation and logistics. That dual perspective is what makes the supply chain work without surprises.

Origins we work with

Our sourcing network spans the principal growing belts of West and North Africa, with established relationships at co-operative and primary-processor level.

West Africa — Sahel belt

Senegal, Mali, Burkina Faso

Gum arabic (wild Acacia senegal), sesame (white hulled and natural), groundnut/peanut

Senegalese gum arabic carries recognised Hashabi-equivalent grades; Sahelian sesame is prized for low pesticide exposure.

West Africa — Gulf of Guinea

Cote d'Ivoire, Ghana, Togo, Benin, Nigeria

Cocoa beans (fermented), cashew nuts (RCN and processed W-grades), palm oil, shea

Cote d'Ivoire produces ~45 % of world cocoa; our cashew network covers CCI-licensed exporters.

Central & East Africa

Cameroon, Uganda, Tanzania

Cocoa (fine-flavour lots), sesame, beans

Cameroonian fine-flavour cocoa targets premium chocolate manufacturers; East African sesame for export is typically natural white.

North Africa — Acacia belt

Sudan, Chad

Gum arabic (Hashabi Grade 1 and Talha)

Sudan and Chad together account for roughly 70-80 % of global gum arabic production. We source directly from kordofan-belt co-operatives.

Traceability and quality approach

01

Pre-shipment inspection

Every shipment is sampled by an independent inspection body — SGS or Intertek — before loading. Moisture, grade, purity, aflatoxin (where applicable) and pesticide residue screening are conducted against the contracted specification.

02

Lot segregation

We do not commingle origins or grades after agreement. Each lot is tagged from collection point through warehouse receipt to container seal number, giving a full chain-of-custody record.

03

EU food-safety alignment

All commodity documentation is prepared against current EU maximum residue limits (MRLs) and aflatoxin regulation (EC 1881/2006 and amendments). We work with accredited laboratories in Abidjan, Dakar and Khartoum.

04

Co-operative relationships

Our primary sourcing relationships are with licensed co-operatives and approved exporters, not spot-market assemblers. Multi-year framework agreements provide volume stability and allow investment in quality-control infrastructure at the origin.
